JOAD at LC & SA started over 35 years ago in 1978 by lifetime members Gary and Marty Musson as a way to educate local children on the sport of archery. JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) is part of the USA Archery (formally NAA), which is a nonprofit organization that sponsors National, International and Olympic teams.

Our Members compete at Olympic, National and International competitions including NAA FITA, IBO (International Bowhunters Organization), NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program), and NFAA (National Field Archery Association). With over 225 archers in our winter program and 85 students in our summer program, LC&SA has the largest youth archery program in the nation.

We have over 30 certified volunteer coaches that work with our young archers and with the help of other National Coaches, we have had the pleasure of producing many young male and female archers that are World Champions with World Records as well as Olympic Medalists and National Champions with National Records. Some of our students have made the USA Archery Dream Team and train quarterly at the Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, California.. LC & SA offers a safe environment for local youth to enjoy the sport of archery as a recreational sport or as a committed competition sport.

The Bullet Clip

The only shooting positions allowed while using the manual trap thrower are on the concrete pads immediately to the right or left of the thrower.

Quotes

It's been written that the most sublime figure in American history was George Washington on his knees in the snow at Valley Forge. He personified a people who knew that it was not enough to depend on their own courage and goodness, that they must also seek help from God -- their Father and preserver. Where did we begin to lose sight of that noble beginning, of our conviction that standards of right and wrong do exist and must be lived up to? Do we really think that we can have it both ways, that God will protect us in a time of crisis even as we turn away from him in our day-to-day life?

Ronald Reagan Reamrks at the National Religious Broadcasters Annual Convention
