Using your favorite field and sporting rifle, you can develop marksmanship skills, progress through a series of ratings, and earn distinctive NRA Light Rifle Qualification rating awards (patch and rockers shown on left). The program is open to both members and non-members. Participants (non-members) ages 6 through 17 are required to become Junior Members (Article VII, Sec. 1c) of LCSA. Program Duration: Thursday evenings, the first week in May through through the lastweek in September - 6:00 p.m. Walk-in registration starts at 5:30 p.m. Please plan to come early for registration and orientation so we can start the program on time. If the first lines fills up before 6:00 p.m., we start the program early. We are using the East pistol range for this program. Drive all the way back and then stay left to the top of the hill. We will shoot each Thursday evening 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. through the last week in September. We will not shoot on evenings if it rains/lightning and will notify folks via email if we have your address on file. We also do not shoot if the Thursday combines with a Holiday weekend. FeesAll registration fees are due at the start of the program, and all line fees are due prior to shooting!
Registration Fee: $15.00 - if shooting in the Qualification Program and earning awards. If a participant is continuing the award program from the previous year, registration fee will be waived. If a participant elects to start a new course of fire (e.g. Benchrest to Standing), a $10.00 fee will be charged. Rockers will be awarded for the new course of fire (no additional patch will be issued). AgeAll ages 6 years and older may participate. Minors must be accompanied by responsible adult during shooting sessions at all times. Adults will be required to coach/direct minors as directed by the RSO and Instructors.
