Excerpts taken from the LC & SA Constitution concerning rules around membershipLCSA Membership FormARTICLE VI Section 1 The membership of this Association shall be maintained at a minimum of two hundred & fifty (250) paid members, unless otherwise directed by the Board of Directors, and approved by e two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present at a regular membership meeting. Section 2 Any person having attained the age of eighteen (18) years, and who is interested in the aims, and objectives of the Association may apply in writing to the membership meeting for the privilege of membership. The membership shall approve or reject such application by simple majority vote of the members present. Section 3 All members of the Association, if in good standing, shall have equal privileges in all benefits of the Club, and Association. Section 4 All registered members, if in good standing, shall have one (1) vote in all business brought before the membership. Section 5 The spouse of a member shall be entitled to use of the facilities of the Association, without having actual membership in the Association. The children of all members shall be entitled to the use of the facilities of the association, without having actual membership, until they attain the age of eighteen (18) years. No minor shall be permitted on the Club premises without a club member or a member’s spouse present. Section 6 A spouse, son or daughter of any member, wishing to become a member, may obtain membership by paying the current membership dues, excluding initiation fee. In the case of a son, or daughter, application to join must be made within a sixty (60) day period of their 18th birthday. Section 7 A member in good standing that becomes a full time student shall receive a fifty (50) % discount from regular membership dues, or dues waived with eight (8) hours of service. Section 8 A member in good standing that becomes a full time member of the armed forces shall be exempt of dues, and will be carried on the membership roster until he/she is mustered out of the armed forces. Said member shall be obligated to pay dues the beginning of the next calendar year. ARTICLE VII
Section 1a The annual dues of the Association for members are one hundred & fifty dollars ($150.00). A work discount to annual dues may be offered in the amount of maximum of one-half (1/2) yearly dues prorated i.e. up to sixteen (16) hours of work. Section 1b A work discount to membership shall consist of a member, or a member’s family providing up to sixteen (16) work hours, during the calendar year. The related chairperson and the Board of Directors must approve any work hours recorded that do not pertain to maintenance of club facilities, running of club business, or related to a club function. All work hours will be recorded under the card holding member’s name. All members will be responsible for recording their work hours, as they are performed, on a specified form posted in the clubhouse by the Membership Secretary. Any work hours not recorded on said form by December 31 of that year will be forfeited.
Section 1c Hereby forms a new membership classification referred to as “Junior Membership”. A. The Junior Membership is available to youths from age 6 to age 17 who are not eligible to participate in youth activities under a Regular Family Membership. It entitles the Junior Members to participate in all programs that allow their participation and requires they only pay applicable daily line fees or other such charges as deemed appropriate for all participants. B. The cost/dues of a single “Junior Membership” shall be $15. C. Unattended “Juniors” are not allowed on the premises without the supervision of an adult Member present, per Article VI Section 5 of the Constitution. D. The junior membership is valid from Dec. 1 to Nov. 30th each year. E. Junior Membership does not include voting rights. F. Should the family of a Junior Member wish to join LC & SA as regular members the $15 Junior Membership amount will be applied as a credit to the Family Membership Dues. G. 3% of the Junior Membership fee will be exempt from the withholding for the Building Fund. Section 2 Payment for renewal of membership is due on February 1. Upon non-payment of membership as of the conclusion of the February membership meeting, application for new membership, which shall include the forfeit of an initiation fee as described in the next section, will be mandatory. If any member, after allowing expiration of his/her membership for non-payment of dues, should be re?admitted into the Association, he/she shall be subject to the restrictions under which all new members suffer. The Board of Directors may grant extensions on a case by case basis. Section 3 Accepted new membership fees shall be prorated per the following formula, plus an initiation fee of ten (10) dollars for the months of February through October: (Present membership rate divided by 12, multiplied by the number of months remaining in the business calendar year rounded off to the nearest cent). For the months of November through January, membership fees shall be prorated per the following formula plus and initiation fee of ten (10) dollars : (Present membership rate divided by 12, multiplied by the number of months remaining in the business calendar year, plus next year’s dues rounded off to the next cent). Section 4 All members reaching sixty (60) years of age, with ten (10) years as a member in good standing, will receive a fifty (50) % discount to membership. Section 5 The Board of Directors shall be in charge of all club functions, i.e. Archery, Firearms, Kitchen, Maintenance, and Grounds etc. Section 6 a A member in good standing shall become eligible for Life Membership after said member has met 4 of 7 of the following qualifications: 1. Has been a member in good standing for fifteen (15) consecutive years in LC & SA. 2. Has been a member in good standing for ten (10) consecutive years in LC & SA, and has a certified physical handicap, may be eligible. 3. Has been a member of the Board of Directors. 4. Has been a committee chair. 5. Has had two (2) years of a hundred (100) work hours. 6. Has participated on a league. 7. Has worked one (1) scheduled event each year for fifteen (15) years. 8. The burden of proof will be on the member, and will apply to members joining after 2009. Section 6b In the case of a deceased Life Member, the membership may extend the Life membership on to the spouse. Section 6c When a member has met 4 of 7 of the above qualifications, the Board of Directors can make the recommendations for Life Membership to the General Membership. Section 6d The General Membership may extend Life Membership, for the qualifications, with a two-thirds (2/3) vote in the affirmative, of the members present.
